• Though COVID-19 prevented our fifth-graders from attending Camp Allegheny in the fall, we wanted to make sure that our students enjoyed an experience that was authentic and reflective of this decades-old Fox Chapel Area School District tradition.

During the week of May 24-28, all of our fifth-graders participated in a variety of activities at their school buildings that mimicked those traditionally done at Camp Allegheny, including making and hanging pine cone bird feeders, taking a “day hike” to learn about topics such as nearby ecosystems and the weather, and hearing about the ways that early settlers to this region lived.
