All FCASD Students Will Receive Free Breakfast, Lunch Starting Oct. 1
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The Fox Chapel Area School District is pleased to announce that all students in the district’s schools will receive free breakfasts and lunches in school beginning October 1, 2020. The meals are part of a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) program to provide free meals to students until December 31, 2020, or until funding runs out. Only regular full school meals are free to students. A la carte items, such as milk and snacks, will still be for sale and must be paid for, including students who are packing and wish to purchase milk.
Additionally, weekly food distributions are continuing for Fox Chapel Area families. Fully online students may order up to five breakfasts and five lunches each week. Hybrid students may order up to three breakfasts and three lunches each week. The free food distributions will be held on Wednesdays from noon-1:30 p.m. in the back of Kerr Elementary School. All district students are eligible for these food distributions. Please note that these meals are for pick up and are to be taken home. Students enrolled in the hybrid educational model will receive free lunches and breakfasts in school on their in-person instructional days, but parents/guardians should use this form if they wish to order free meals for their students’ online instructional days. Anyone interested in picking up free meals must fill out the following Google form: http://bit.ly/FCASDPickupMeals. This form must be filled out no later than 10 p.m. the Tuesday prior to pick up.
Parents are reminded that any balances accrued prior to October 1, 2020, are still owed to the cafeteria.
