Fox Chapel Area Among Districts Participating in discoverED 2021

More than 3,000 second-grade students across the state of Pennsylvania, including some in the Fox Chapel Area School District, are about to embark on a highly innovative and engaging learning activity – discoverED 2021!

discoverED 2021, which will be held on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, is a virtual collaborative design challenge that marks the kickoff of Remake Learning Days in Pennsylvania, a national learning festival for students and families. During the discoverED celebration, schools from throughout the state that differ in demographics will partner and virtually swap students during the afternoon, and experience how STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) and maker practices positively affect children. discoverED virtual collaboration opportunities will create meaningful connections between teachers and students for years to come.

The joint activity planned for discoverED will culminate in a record-breaking challenge. Participating schools will connect virtually, and students will plan, create, and iterate their own marble mazes. A live feed of this feat will stream to hundreds of schools across the state, and images of the experience will be shared with the hashtags #FCProud, #discoverED, and #RemakeDays.

discoverED is just one part of the magnificent Remake Learning Days from May 6-16, 2021! Please visit www.remakelearningdays.org to learn more about these unique educational opportunities for all students.
